Dr. Lasky joined Rutgers Health Services in 2002, after serving as Program Director of the Family Practice Residency at Somerset Medical Center. She served as Director of Health Services at Hurtado, prior to taking her current position as the Executive Director of Health Services in 2004. Board-certified in Family Practice, she maintains her clinical practice, seeing students in her office and in urgent care for a wide variety of medical problems. Dr. Lasky did her undergraduate work at Lycoming College and studied medicine at Temple University.

 
Lynn Fryer, MSN, APN

Lynn Fryer, MSN, APN

Staff Nurse Practitioner
Associate Director of Medical Services

Lynn received a BA in biology from Rutgers College, and a Masters in Public Health from the University of Medicine and Dentistry-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. In 1998 she obtained a Bachelors of Science in Nursing and in 2000 a Masters of Science in Nursing from Columbia University. As a Family Nurse Practitioner, Lynn has worked in women's health, adolescent health, HIV care, and Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgendered (LGBT) health. She is also a New Jersey State Certified Forensic Nurse, able to conduct exams on adult victims of sexual assault.

Prior to working at Rutgers University, Lynn worked in college health at Montclair State University. Lynn was promoted to the position of Associate Director in April 2010. As Associate Director, Lynn coordinates the scheduling for the three health centers and manages the nurses, nurse practitioners and health technicians at Rutgers Health Services.

 

 
 

Philip Cohen, MD

Staff Physician

Dr. Cohen is a specialist in internal medicine and Sports Medicine and has been at Rutgers University since 2000. Dr. Cohen did his undergraduate work at Yale University where he graduated with honors. He returned to New Jersey for medical school, and graduated from UMDNJ-RWJ - again with honors. He then completed a three year residency in Internal Medicine and headed out west for a fellowship in Sports Medicine at UCLA. While in California, he served as the team physician for baseball and women's soccer and was on the medical staff of the USA weight lifting team.
At Rutgers University, Dr. Cohen splits his time between the Busch-Livingston Health Center and the Hurtado Health Center, where he sees both general medical problems and athletic injuries.

 

 
Karen Ingram, MD, FAAP

Karen Ingram, MD, FAAP

Staff Physician

Dr. Ingram is a graduate of Marymount College in Tarrytown, NY, and the former UMDNJ-Rutgers Medical School, where she completed a residency in Pediatrics in 1981. Board-certified in Pediatrics, she was in private practice, and was listed as one of "New Jersey’s Top Physicians" in New Jersey Magazine issues of 1993, 1995, and 1998. She joined Rutgers and the Hurtado Health Center in 1998 and served as the interim Medical Director from July 2000 – December 2001.

 
 

Debbie Johnson, MD

Staff Physician

Dr. Johnson is a board-certified Family Physician with a special interest in reproductive and sexual health issues. She is a Rutgers College Alumni, graduating Phi Beta Kappa with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. She then went on to NJ Medical School in Newark for her medical degree and completed residency at Somerset Family Practice in Somerville, NJ. Dr. Johnson is a pro-choice physician who is actively involved in women’s health issues both in and out of the office. In addition, she enjoys seeing a wide-variety of general medical problems and educating students about their own health. She came to Hurtado in 2007 after many years of experience working in private practice and at Planned Parenthood.

 
 

Raj Malkani, M.D.

Staff Physician

Dr. Malkani received her M.D. degree from Grant Medical College in India. After being trained in pediatrics and adolescent medicine, she completed her residency in Pediatrics at New York University and Saint Peter's Medical Center, rising to chief resident. She is Board Certified in Pediatrics, specializing in Adolescent Medicine, and has been with Rutgers since 1981. Dr. Malkani is an Elected Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics (FAAP) and has been a Clinical Assistant Professor of Pediatrics of UMDNJ & Robert Wood Johnson Hospital since 2004.
Highly qualified to provide students with outstanding medical care, Dr. Malkani is an international public health advocate, volunteering her services to rural communities in India and the United States. She is passionate about teaching residents, medical and pharmacology students about medicine. She enjoys working with the diverse and vibrant Rutgers student body, and the analytical and surgical aspects of College Medicine, Hematology, and Women's Health.

 
 

William Newrock, MD

Staff Physician

Dr. Newrock received his Bachelor of Science degree from Iona College and a Masters from St. John's University. He received his medical degree from the University of Genoa, in Genoa, Italy. He did his internship and residency in family practice at John F. Kennedy Medical Center in Edison, NJ where he was also Chief Resident. Dr. Newrock has been associated with Rutgers University since 1989, and is board-certified in Family Practice. He has an interest in travel medicine and is certified in travel health.

 
Cheryl Brown, RN, MS, APN

Cheryl Brown, RN, MS, APN

Staff Nurse Practitioner

Cheryl obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from the University of Pennsylvania and  her Masters Degree at Rutgers University-Newark. She is board certified as a Family Practice Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. She is also a member of Sigma Theta Tau, the national honor society for nursing. Cheryl has been a nurse practitioner at Rutgers Health Services since 1990. In addition, she has experience in community based private practice in both pediatrics and gynecology. She is adjunct faculty at Seton Hall University and Rutgers University and precepts graduate nurse practitioner students at the Health Center. While Cheryl sees students with all problems, she has special interest in the area of women's health, eating disorders and with the athletes at Rutgers.

 
 

Caroline Cunniff

Staff Nurse Practitioner

Caroline received her Bachelor of Science in Human Services from the University of Scranton. Then she went on to receive her Associates Degree in Nursing from Brookdale Community College, and her Masters of Science in Nursing from Monmouth University as a Family Nurse Practitioner. She has experience working as a nurse practitioner in a pediatrician’s office, and also worked for several years as a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Room.

 
 

Dana Essner

Staff Nurse Practitioner

Dana has a dual certification as a Family and Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. She started at Rutgers Health Services in 2014. She has experience as a emergency room nurse practitioner, and worked with high-risk youth in a Correctional facilities for ten years as a nurse practitioner. As a registered nurse, Dana has worked extensively with pediatric patients in inpatient and outpatient settings.

 
 

Margaret Fleck, DNP, APN

Staff Nurse Practitioner

Peggy received her Bachelors of Nursing at the University of Delaware, and her Masters and Doctoral degrees at UMDNJ. She is certified as a Family Practice Nurse Practitioner, and comes to Rutgers after working in Critical Care and private practice. She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau, the honor society for nursing, and is currently serving as a board member of the Academy of Doctors of Nursing Practice. Peggy is among the first group of DNPs in the USA to earn the title of Diplomat in Comprehensive Care, awarded by the American Board of Comprehensive Care. She has also been the recipient of the Governor’s Award for Excellence in Nursing. Peggy loves to see a wide variety of student health issues, provide education on wellness as well as illness, and answer student’s questions.

Staff Nurse Practitioner

Diane Heimlich began her nursing career after completing a Bachelor of Arts Degree in American Studies from the University of Michigan (Residential College). She received her undergraduate nursing degree from Columbia University, where she was inducted into the Sigma Theta Tau Honor Society of Nursing. Her Masters of Science in Nursing Degree, with a specialty in adult primary care, was awarded from the University of Pennsylvania. She is nationally certified as an adult nurse practitioner through the American Nurses Credentialing Center and is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and the American Nurses Association. Diane has been working as a nurse practitioner since 1984. Her early experiences involved caring for indigent adult populations in the Bronx and in St. Louis, MO. She has worked for Rutgers Health Services since 1989. In addition to enjoying her general practice, she has a special interest in working with students with eating issues. She is also a member of her local Board of Health and is active in organizing an annual Health Fair in her community.

 
 

Mihee Kim

Staff Nurse Practitioner

Mihee Kim is a family nurse practitioner who has been in practice for 16 years. She has been working at MinuteClinic for the past five years and has had other positions in college health, school nursing, and neighborhood health centers. She received her Master of Nursing degree at the University of Washington and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Pennsylvania.

Dorothy Kozlowski, APN,MSN,RN

Staff Nurse Practitioner

Dorothy Kozlowski received her undergraduate degree at Rutgers College of Nursing and her master's Degree as an Adult/Family nurse practitioner at Seton Hall University. Her background includes critical care, intensive care, emergency care and teaching both undergraduate and graduate nursing students. She has been the Director of Willets Health Center since 1986. Dorothy's career here at Rutgers has been as a board certified Nurse Practitioner, an administrator, a public health advocate and a resource for students, faculty and staff. Professionally, she was elected as a Fellow in the American College Health Association, where she served as Regional President and a member of the Board of Directors. Among her many honors, includes a twice-received certificate of Excellence in Nursing from the Department of Health and several awards from ACHA (American College Health Association ) for valuable service and leadership. In 2002, Dorothy was appointed Chair of the Rutgers University Blood Drive Committee, a partnership with Rutgers University, Johnson & Johnson and NJ Blood Drive Services. In April of last year, she received an award from NJ Blood Services on behalf of the committee for the community service.

 
 

Larissa Lobato, APN, FNP, RNC-OB

Staff Nurse Practitioner

Larissa is board certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center and received her Master of Science in Nursing from Monmouth University in West Long Branch, NJ. She joined the Rutgers Health Services team in Fall 2012. Her prior RN experience includes labor and delivery at Monmouth Medical Center and Saint Peter’s University Hospital. She is an active member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. She is also a member of the Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal nurses. She is active in promoting the positive role of nurse practitioners through networking as well as serving as preceptor to adult and family NP students.

Larissa splits her time between Hurtado Health Center and Willets Health Center with interests on general medical problems and women’s health.

 
Cynthia Stitt-Cameron, ADN, RN-C

Cynthia has had a well-traveled career. After taking some courses at Rutgers, she received her nursing degree from Cameron University in Lawton, Oklahoma. Her career has taken her as far as to Bamberg, Germany where she worked in an emergency room - and was awarded the American Red Cross Nurse's Badge for her efforts. Cynthia has worked in college health since 1986, and in 1991 was one of the first group of nurses to become certified in college health. She is certified by the state to do HIV counseling and testing, and maintains her basic cardiac life support certification.

 
 

Diane Ahmed, BA, RN

Diane has worked on and off at the Hurtado Health Center since 1981. She received her bachelor’s degree from Douglass College and earned her nursing degree from St. Peter’s Hospital School of Nursing. Diane has been certified in a number of areas, including IV placement, HIV counseling and testing, and Basic Life Support.

 
 

Mary D'Alonzo, RNC

Mary received her nursing diploma from Saint Peter’s School of Nursing. Her 34 year nursing career has always been centered around the New Brunswick area. Her experience includes working in Medical ICU, Public Health and prior to coming to RU was charge nurse at St Peter’s University Hospital Internal Medicine outpatient practice.

Claire Enners is a Registered Nurse who has been working in a private pediatrician’s office for many years. She also has experience in case management, infusion care, and private duty nursing. She completed her nursing studies at Muhlenberg Hospital School of Nursing and has an Associates Degree in Science from Union County College. Claire is a 12 month employee and will be based at Hurtado Health Center.

 
 

Gaetana Holt, RN

Staff Nurse

Gae received her Nursing degree from UMDNJ/MCC. Her nursing career included working as a staff nurse at St. Peter’s University Hospital, as a school nurse in South Brunswick as well as a nurse in a local pediatric’s office. she has been a member of Rutgers  Health Services since 2009.

 
 

Jolaine Moffitt, RN

Jolaine Moffitt earned her nursing degree from Raritan Valley County College after working for 8 years in pharmaceutical advertising. She comes to Rutgers Health Services (RHS) as a licensed Register Nurse (RN) from Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Pediatric Emergency Department. Responsibilities at the hospital included working as a staff nurse and attending to trauma patients.  Jolaine joined RHS in 2012 as an RN attending to students at Hurtado Health Center.

 
 

Jacqueline Pacheco, BS, RN

Jackie received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from Rutgers College of Nursing. Most of her nursing career experience has been working as a staff and charge RN in the Pediatric Emergency/Trauma Department at RWJUH. Jackie also has prior experience working as a staff RN on the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Pediatrics Unit, and Pediatric Hematology and Oncology unit. She joined RHS in spring 2014 as a staff RN, and she is based at Hurtado Health Center.

Elky has been in the medical field for 7 years. She graduated from Raritan Valley Community College in 2012 as a registered nurse and has worked in several nursing facilities since graduation. Prior to nursing, she worked as a patient care technician at Somerset Medical Center and a health care specialist at Planned Parenthood.

Staff Nurse

Betty received her BS in Nursing from Rutgers College of Nursing. She started her career at NYU Medical Center in the transplant / post-operative unit. Her passion for travel has brought her to take on assignments as a travel nurse to many cities across the US. She has been a nurse in ICU, obstetrics / gynecology office, and other specialties prior to coming to Rutgers. She has certification in phlebotomy, IV Therapy, HIV counseling, and basic life support. She has been a member of Rutgers  Health Services since 2009.

Kim graduated from The Center of Allied Health School of Nursing as an LPN. Prior to working at Rutgers, she worked at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital as a Clinical Health Technician. Her responsibilities within Health Services include drawing blood and other lab tests, patient intake, ordering supplies and working closely with nurses, doctors and nurse practitioners. Kim is also a Pediatric home care nurse for Starlight Pediatric Homecare.

Attended Chubb Institute and graduated with honors from the Medical Assistant program. Liz brings her experience from her work in a private practice specializing in pulmonary disorders to Rutgers Health Services.

Shelby has been an employee at Rutgers Student Health for 24 years as a Health Technician. She attended and graduated from Bryman’s National Institute in 1986 where she trained as a Medical assistant. She enjoys working with the staff and helping the students.

 
 

Jumel Raro

Health Technician II

Jumel Raro is a licensed practicing nurse since 2005. Previously employed at Robert Wood Johnson and Fresenius Medical Center before coming to Rutgers Health Services (RHS).  He received his degree from Middlesex County Technical School and studied nursing at University of South Florida. Expertise includes cardiac telemetry and dialysis.  Jumel joined the Rutgers Health Service team in 2013 and works at Hurtado Health Center as a Health Tech.

 

 
 

Helen Suchocki-Martinez, CMA, RMA, REKG, RPT, AHI

Health Technician II 

Helen attended college in New Jersey and trained in New York and New Jersey. At Hurtado, Helen's broad responsibilities include performing EKGs, pulmonary function and other testing, drawing blood, and working with the nurses, nurse practitioners, and doctors to ensure that student's medical needs are addressed. Helen is also Lead Medical Instructor at Sandford Brown Institute for over 10 yrs.
