See the World….. But See Us First!

Rutgers Student Health provides  Travel Medicine Services at the Hurtado Health Center on the College Avenue campus.

We provide comprehensive pre-travel consultation services geared towards the University Community.  Information tailored to the individual’s itinerary and medical condition will be discussed.  Any necessary vaccines (including Hepatitis A, Typhoid Fever, and Yellow Fever) may be ordered and administered.  Pills to help protect against malaria and traveler’s diarrhea may be prescribed.

The consultation and any immunization provided will be submitted to your insurance for payment. Visits and charges will be handled like any other student health center visit for students. (See ELIGIBILITY, FEES FOR USING HEALTH SERVICES ON CAMPUS AND INSURANCE BILLING) All co-pays, deductibles, charges not paid by insurance will be billed to faculty, staff and the general public who utilize our travel consultation services.

Please plan ahead and try to schedule your appointment 4-6 weeks prior to your departure date, as some immunizations take time to become effective. For non-Rutgers students, a copy of your immunization record is helpful.

Appointments are required; call 848-932-7402 or click here to schedule online.
